One of the most popular arguments against gay marriage is that if we legalize gay marriage it’s a slippery slope to legalizing polygamy and beastiality. My response is: so what? People who are in favor of gay marriage are far too quick to dismiss these other forms of non-traditional marriage.
Can anybody think of a single reason why polygamy or beastiality is bad other than “it’s unnatural”, “it’s disgusting”, or “I hate it”?
Remember, we should never be legislating taste and if somebody wants to have sex with his cow who are we to judge? If somebody is in love with two women, or three, or four, or five, who are we to judge them and say they can’t get married?
There’s an argument that it’s dangerous: diseases can be transmitted between humans and animals, and polygamous relationships might lead to bad parenting. If disease is a problem practice safe sex, and polygamous marriages don’t lead to any worse parenting than “traditional” relationships.
Let’s also remember that the law will neither stop nor encourage this behavior. Somebody crazy enough to have sex with a cow is going to have sex with a cow regardless of whether it’s legal. Somebody in love with two women is going to sleep with both of them regardless of what the law says.
So, I ask you: if we’re going to legalize gay marriage, why not legalize other non-traditional forms of marriage along the way?

neither can verbally consent, but most people dont verbally consent. an animal could sortof show consent by doing something like rubbing against the human or not backing away. but a child could be seen as sexually teasing an adult or not backing away when theyre being molested. that does not mean the child is consenting.
perhaps the difference is development? an animal would most likely be fully developed at the time of “the act”. but a human child is still just a child.

Actually, that is a good question. From my perspective, the difference is that we don’t slaughter and eat human children.
In other words, my argument is that since we slaughter and eat animals and that’s clearly worse than shagging them, it’s pretty hypocritical of us to say that bestiality is wrong.
However, that argument clearly doesn’t apply to pedophilia.
But, there is another question: what exactly is wrong with pedophilia? What’s wrong is that you can’t force yourself on people, obviously (regardless of how young or old they are). However, I do not believe that child molestation is “the most heinous crime imaginable” that people seem to think it is.
We expect that children who are molested will be emotionally traumatized, scarred for life, require therapy, etc., but why? What exactly is traumatic about being molested OTHER than society telling the kid that he should be traumatized? For example, given the choice, I would much rather have some strange man touch my private parts than have the crap beaten out of me and my legs broken. Why? Isn’t it obvious? If I’m molested I can just shake it off, but if my legs are broken I may never walk again.

I think that any subject about sex is a taboo depending in people. So the shame reflects the way you feel. In some society even two adultes who are havinf sex without being married is a crime and the couple specially the female would feel the guilt all her life just like she was molested or raped. Ran across this article from a random search. You always hear those guys at school saying search for this or search for that. Its almost always something you dont want to see. Boredom made me search and I found this but thats not the point. The point is what really is taboo and what is not? True many things have once been considered taboo in the past but are now happening everyday. Yes, some people would find it offensive to compare beastiality with incest or gay sex or any of the other acts that are condsidered to be taboo. However, it makes me wonder if they stop to think. All of these “taboo” acts are not so different from each other. All of them are considered to be shameful by society. Well if you introduce sex at such a young age aren’t they susceptible to sex addiction? I don’t think it’s very responsible on the adults part because he/she is ignoring that they are not mentally mature yet. Sex/love addiction is a terrible thing. And if we want to evolve as a human species, we need to keep STD’s away at least at some degree because not every single person is actually going to use a condom or some other form of protection. Truthfully the only true standard and reason for marriage is the Bible, and the biblical principals (that this country was founded on btw and is the only reason that this sadly declining culture has survived this long in my opinion). Given that you believe the Bible and its contents are true, then marriage certainly did exist before the Bible was written, but you would also have to believe that marriage was first created by God at the very beginning and then later recorded by God through man.
But seeing as that you probably don’t believe that the Bible is true (since in another post you state that you believe the Bible to be false), the way you question Anonymous is fair.
And non-Christians do get married as well. I don’t think Anonymous was denying that reality. Polygymy i see no problem with, as long as all members of the marriage consent. it should be legalized the same as gay marriage. The issue with beastiality is one of consent. If aam wamts to have sex with his cow, thats fine as long as the cow consents, which is an issue in that there is no way for the cow too show consent. There isn’t anything inherently wrong with bestiality, polygamy and even incest. Society tends to blur lines and make connections against things deemed to be uncomfortable. Bestiality is one of my favorite topics to discuss when around people who are willing to discuss it in a civil manner.
Often when people are ranting against bestiality they tend to use phrases like “rape” and “abuse”. These are shock words intended to incite anger, often preventing people from evaluating the topic at hand. And allows the person(s) making these claims to brush off anyone who dares to challenge their perspective.
Truth be told, sexual contact with an animal is not automatically abusive. For an animal to be abused there has to be some form of tangible harm, whether it be physical or mental. It can and has been proven that simply having sexual contact with an animal doesn’t prove harmful to the animal in question.
It’s how you have sex with an animal that proves harmful, obviously if you don’t know what you are doing or are reckless you can very well hurt an animal as easily as you could hurt a human. Classifying bestiality as abuse is a misstep…
Rape, it’s true you can force yourself onto an animal. But considering all the other interactions we force onto animals, what makes sexual contact any more dastardly than slaughter, forced breeding and trotting them along through animal shows? I contend it’s our society’s fear of just about everything sexual. Killing your neighbor’s dog is a destruction of property charge, given a fine and ordered to pay the owner the value of the property. Having sex with your neighbors dog is a felony with a prison sentence; in a number of states.
But animals are capable of giving consent, even if not on the same level as human beings. Anyone who’s had contact with an animal, or have ever had a pet knows that animals love some things and hate others. An example would be like trying to bathe a cat, cats are known to throw a fit if you put them in water.
In short the majority of anti-bestiality arguments are based around personal distaste and then built upon by speculative logic to seek the desired outcome. Rather than recognizing bestiality for what it is, people against it deem it as abuse and close their mind to any challenge of that idea.

Argument: Sexual relations between humans and animals is beautiful and natural and anyone who disagrees is close-minded and has an irrational view of sexuality.
Why this argument fails: If humans have to be open and accepting to the idea that sex between a human and an animal is natural, then just the same they have to be open to the idea that sexuality is natural when exclusively between humans who value their sexuality as something meaningful because they are excluding unnatural, harmful, demeaning or humiliating acts from their life.
Argument: A human having sex with an animal isn’t harming or offending anyone and anyone who is harmed or offended by any kind of sexuality doesn’t understand nature.
Why this argument fails: Having sex with an animal hurts the human in the same way that cutting out a part of your brain or murdering your family does; It effectively destroys and warps all the natural and healthy parts of your body and your mind; You are here to be a human, to be natural, to be alive and to be healthy – Abusing your own sexuality with a creature of another species is in all ways against all that is human, all that is positive life force. It does harm the animal, it can physically harm their health and it does harm them mentally and emotionally. Having sex with an animal is similar to having sex with an infant, someone gravely mentally disabled or someone who can’t see, hear, feel or understand anything. Animals aren’t below humans, but their minds and bodies work in completely different ways, although abled to communicate emotionally with humans, they are not the same as humans. Just like mutilating a dog’s body, feeding it dog meat, giving it plastic surgery and giving it steroids warps the natural anatomy and instincts of an animal, so does sexual intercourse with an animal warp its natural instincts and view of the world from the primitive point of view of their own species. Having sex with an animal also harms those uninvolved – If you have sex with a horse, you offend everyone who will meet you or who will meet that horse, not just from the point of view that their view of sexuality is “superior” to yours, but rather due to appropriate sexual integrity; No one should have to unknowingly eat the meat of a horse that has been raped by a human or have surgery performed by someone who has raped a horse. This is not because sex with animals is ultimately “wrong”, but because sexual integrity and purity is important from a point of view of personal safety and the right to be in control of anything sexual in your own life, rather from the point of view of religion or moral.
Ultimately, no one can effectively keep anyone from their choices or their thoughts; Although with the belief that nothing ever is “wrong” or “unacceptable”, then neither is it wrong to murder someone or simply stop someone from commiting a negative action.
Before doing something unnatural to an animal, please, please ask yourself these questions:
*Will this act somehow harm myself? Will it destroy my view of my own self-worth? Will it make my life unbearable for myself in the future?
*Will this act somehow harm the animal? Will it confuse the animal or warp the animal’s natural instincts?
*Will this somehow harm people who will interact with the animal in the future? Is this someone else’s pet? Will someone eat the meat of this animal?
*Will this somehow harm people who will interact with me? Is it possible people can be harmed simply from learning what I have done?
Hopefully, the answers will change your mind and help you from doing something harmful.

It has also been shown in paintings and sculptures throughout the world, even in some decorative sculpture on temples, and was actually accepted by society until the Bible wrote it off as wrong. It is not an unnatural occurrence, it is DEFINITELY not an uncommon occurrence, and humans aren’t the only species that does it.
The same basic argument goes for homosexuality as well. Every species of mammal has been found to have homosexuals in it. A male giraffe will have more sex with other males than females in his lifetime, only resorting to a female for reproductive purposes. In ancient Greece, men were openly allowed to have intercourse with each other as long as they married a woman and had a family. Again, the Bible is the only thing that has actually brought humanity AWAY from it’s natural state.

All children of GOD should be on the defense against theology and philosophy that aims (whether consciously or not) to destroy the authority of GOD in the earth. We have to be bold and courageous because others souls depend on us fighting for GOD ‘s will to be done in the earth.
Btw, the answer to the question specifically is that it should be illegal so that we that believe in Christianity and GOD can ensure that GOD’s will is performed in the earth. It’s why we vote for officials that believe similar to what we believe. They in turn will fight for our particular issues. Constitutionality is a different issue but we should vote and try to ensure that GOD’s will is done because at the end of GOD’s will is love for all and the hope of their salvation. If we allow any and everything, the line between what is constitutional and what is right and wrong becomes skewed. We should try to let our laws speak of a nation that is in GOD’s will. However, people will always do what they want to do and GOD will ultimately be the one that does the judging but we can live and fight for an environment that facilitates and not hinders GOD’s will.
