Grandpa’s Aces
This is me performing a card trick invented by Chris Kenner and popularized by David Copperfield. The music in the background is the “Love Theme” from the movie “Cousins”. Although no one really knows how Copperfield does the trick, I have reverse-engineered it to my satisfaction. Enjoy!
Back Handsprings
I put this video up because (I think) it’s hilarious. It’s my CollegeHumor.com claim to fame. But beyond that, it’s also supposed to show the work that goes into this sort of thing. You see videos online of people going crazy — flipping this way and that, leaping off buildings, etc — and you always think, “Wow, how does he DO that?!” You never see the years of gymnastics training these people go through, the years of trial and error, the years of failure. You only see the end results.
And, naturally, you end up thinking, “That guy is amazing. I could never do that.” Well, you’re wrong. Yes, that guy might be amazing, but so could you. All it takes is hard work.
Anyways, I’m not trying to make a profound philosophical statement, but I hate it when people say something like, “I can’t draw,” or, “I can’t play the guitar,” or whatever. You certainly CAN, if you put in the needed effort.
Okay, back to my video. Yes, I’m horribly bad at back handsprings. But this video documents ONE HOUR that I spent in the gym. That’s it! How good do you expect me to get? I think I did pretty well. I may or may not go back and try to improve in the future.
Yoshimoto Cube
This is damn awesome. My mom bought it for me for Christmas from the Museum of Modern Art. Read more here.

Hi Philip,
I would like to ask your permission to use your video of the Yoshimoto Cube. As a demonstration, I have already uploaded the video under the new title of PlayArt. If you have any problems with it I’d be happy to remove or alter it. I believe this treatment does not harm you or Naoki, in fact it enriches the communication and raises the video to a new level. In the description, Naoki is acknowledged as a pioneer of PlayArt. You find all the pertinent info on the Website which is non-profit and does not sell anything. The video is @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luPpjz8MY_U
I hope you are okay with this proposal.
Ernst
All I ask is that you include a link back to my site. Thanks!
